The Visionary Behind Ysquared Chartered Accountants
Rachel is the founder of Ysquared Chartered Accountants and the driving force behind the firm’s growth and direction.
She is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ). In 2020, Rachel received the CA ANZ Auckland and Northland Young Regional Advocate Award in recognition of her contribution to the accounting profession and professional community. In 2025, she was also named one of the University of Auckland’s Global Top 40 Outstanding Alumni, further recognising her professional achievements, entrepreneurial leadership and community impact.

Rachel has over 16 years of professional experience across accounting, taxation, risk management and compliance. Her career includes roles with well-known organisations such as IRD, Sovereign, AIA, and Commonwealth Bank of Australia, giving her strong insight into corporate, financial services and tax compliance environments.

In addition to founding Ysquared Chartered Accountants, Rachel is also actively involved in accounting education and compliance technology. She founded Ysquared Education and has been involved in the development of Trusted AML, with a focus on providing practical training and efficient compliance solutions for businesses and professional service firms.

Rachel has a strong interest in New Zealand taxation, international tax and cross-border structuring. She specialises in providing strategic tax advice, designing tax-efficient structures, tax planning, interpreting Double Tax Agreements (DTAs), and assisting clients with IRD tax reviews, tax disputes, Voluntary Disclosures and tax debt matters.
